Beware The "Mugwamps," 24 lines
(continued from above) The politician of years gone by knew that news traveled slowly, and some would never hear what he said elsewhere. He could fire up the crowd for what they wanted to hear, and then fire up another crowd for the very opposite thing, but what they wanted to hear. The poem explains this as well as mentions the sad fact that politicians of today scarcely blush about their lies, and get their points in, then detract. It is a very good read. What we do need today is Statesmen, who speak the truth, and speak their minds, the same to any crowd. Many American are fed up with vain modern day "mugwamps", yea, politicians, who so freely lie, embellish, and deceive!
