Shamefacedness, All But Lost

Shamefacedness, All But Lost

This poem is given as a reproof to the careless speaking that daily pours out , as a volcano, spewing such vulgarity in society, and that,  without any seeming ability to blush (shamefacedness).  It lists many things that are shameful and ought be considered a shame to speak openly about, especially in front of children. It declares the lack of wisdom and intelligence in such speaking.  (continued below)

Shamefacedness, All But Lost, 2 pages,  40 lines

(continued from above)      The 6th couplet says:    "Oh the sad folly of vain words spoken so carelessly,    Oh the real lasting grief that's brought by tongues that are so sharp,    Their mindless speech shot forth rapidly and so aimlessly,    Breaking quickly all of the pure strings of a lovely harp."    Do you have a shamefacedness?     A reminder is given to one and all that we must give an account of every word we speak one day.
