Cut The Anchor, Let The Ship Drift, 20 lines
(continued from above) The blaming of success, and encouraging mediocrity is a folly indeed! The 4th couplet decries: "What a folly is this cult, Of societal teaching, That does blame and subscribe fault, To those who dream of reaching." It is seen today on the athletic field among children, by the social planners, not wanting to hurt anyone's "self-esteem". Entrepreneurs have a hard time hiring people with this mindset and lament also an attitude of entitlement. True life and success comes from excellence not mediocrity. True life is not a hand out, but hard work worthy of hire. Back to the basics!
*We already have written a poem entitled, "Throw Excellence Out, Vote Mediocrity In."
