(continued from above) The position undermines true justice, and waves a white flag to those who perpetrate such evil! Those that murder ought to face justice. The poem, as an editorial, emphatically denounces such vain rhetoric, regardless of the motive. Our military personnel deserve better and should not be put in such a vacuous position. To send them to fight, or predicate their next fight, with their hands tied behind their backs is foolish! The poem states that the appeasing notion of a "New Normal" is cowardly, faulty rhetoric, and to sell out freedom. This is a disgraceful mockery of all who have stood to defend, and have given their lives for freedom! Despotic dictators, blinded terrorists, and all that do such evil understand one thing. It is strength and an unmitigating power against them. The poem closes: "We need not a "New Normal," We need the old paths to tread, Capitulation, et al, Never ~ but to shoot them dead." Sophistry without wisdom is empty headed rhetoric! We need wise leaders today, such as England's Winston Churchill in WWII, who never, never, never give in.
