Do Not Listen To The Devil

Do Not Listen To The Devil

This poem is written assuming the reader knows the validity of that old serpent,  the devil.  It warns not to listen to him.  It goes from there, to describe, the tools of his lore to tempt, to deceive, to draw away, from the position of truth and right.  It tells the truth of his longevity and  his ability to control.  He seeks to deceive and destroy. He uses fear and blame to sway emotions to destroy lives. (continued below)

Do Not Listen To The Devil,  20 lines

(continued from above)    The poem tells that he seeks  to draw away  "untested youth"  to cause their lives  early "to stink."    He seeks to produce  a spirit of melancholy  to push one  over the edge.    The poem closes:    "Don't let him o'er the edge to press,   He wants to destroy everything,   Through melancholy and distress,   He pushes,  he shoves,  he does sting."    Beware of suicide and suicidal tendencies.   These have the marks of the devil.    Listening to the devil does not produce a good mental health.
