Hallowed Grounds

Hallowed Grounds

This poem solemnly honors those war dead whose bodies lie under a white marker in pristine fields around the world where U.S. Soldiers lay. How a nation honors its war dead is very important.  The second to last couplet says:  "Of every people group and background, Laying aside prejudice and pride,  Names of their white markers can be found,  Who have suffered, who've bled, and who've died."                     (continued below)
