Meekness Is Not Weakness, But Controlled Power To Bless

Meekness Is Not Weakness, But Controlled Power To Bless

This POEM elevates the portrait of meekness  seen  in  the  Lord Jesus Christ.  What  He  did  on the  cross  is  the  greatest example  of  true  meekness. What  He  did  is  the  greatest event  on  earth  and  has  the greatest worth.  Death's strong arm  reaches  each  one  of us, but had no claim on Him, for He had  no  sin.  He was raised on high, on the cross, to bear all of our sins, shed His blood, satisfy God's justice and holiness, and died.  He  suffered  our  eternal penalty,  then  He triumphantly rose again.   (continued below)

Meekness Is Not Weakness,  But Controlled Power To Bless,  24 lines

(continued from above)     The poem declares  that He had power  to NOT  come to earth,   and power  to NOT  lay His life down.   The fourth couplet states:     "He had power not to come to the earth,      He had power not to lay His life down,     Through His power ~ shed His blood ~ priceless worth,  In His power ~ He rose ~ He wears a crown."      The  poem  goes  on  to  make  a  personal  appeal  for  each  one  to  trust  Him  as  Savior,  and  warns:     "Without Him ~ is eternal damnation."

Editors note:    It is not that He could not save Himself,  but that He would not save Himself.   He could have stopped it all,  but in meekness chose not to,  but to lay down His life to save men's souls.   That is power under complete control.
