This poem tells of the yearning for freedom of our forefathers. It tells of divine providence that led them. They did their part and trusted God to bless their efforts. They labored in His might and persevered until victory came. The fourth couplet reads: "He led through the dread fight, Against o'erwhelming foe, He gave them strength and might, His courage they did know." The founding of America is miraculous to say the least.
