This poem stresses the value of having goals to accomplish and that of dreaming dreams. The pursuit of lofty goals of good reason are always in season.  Those goals of great significance that transcend the fleeting moments of the day are most worthy.  It talks about goals that come to naught, should not cause one to stop dreaming and trying again.
